Being self employed with no safety net
F*ck this shit moment
I was a corporate executive overseeing a major disaster clean up and I was sitting on a curb with my steel toed boots caked in mud when I was verbally abused by the President and I said, "F*ck this! No one will ever speak to me like this again." It was one of the big turning points for me to leave corporate and be fully self employed.
Advice to 13 year old self
STOP!!!!!.....Don't train for that safe career, that you hate, just to have a paycheque. Listen to your gut, it knows the right path for you.

Admitting that I was burnt out and had to take stress leave
How did you overcome it?
Meditation and connection to nature, set boundaries (like I get to say NO to 5am conference calls)
What do you wish you stopped doing a long time ago?
I would never have become an engineer. I would have followed my dream to be a writer and therapist.
After A shitty day/month/year, How do you keep going?
Play with my rescue dog. Morning meditation routine. Read. Do something creative. Go to dance class.
who/What changed your direction forever?
Hardest part about being a trailblazer / first generation?
Allowing myself to feel "alone" and that I don't have to fit in and it's ok to be that way.

I've sacrificed myself too many times in my life. I'm NOT willing to do it again.

biggest high and most challenging low in your business?
I recently gave a webinar for UBC Alumni Assoc. I was shocked that 98% of the 400+ attendees stayed on for the whole webinar.
Biggest low...is a tough question...frankly there are so many. Let's go with not having even one client in the first month of my coaching certification when everything in me knew that I could be a great coach.
Your advice for new / growing / peaked entrepreneurs?
New - It takes longer than you expect and that's ok :-) It's still worth it.
Growing - Get your "why" nailed down and remind yourself of it every day when you get distracted or disappointed.
Peaked - What else do you want in life now that you've created this body of work?

Honestly I struggle with networking because I don't know many people who have a mostly online business
